Hon. Akinwale Akinwole has been adopted as the consensus candidate for Oyo North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Ogbomoso born entrepreneur who was vying for the House of Representatives was adopted as a senatorial candidate after stakeholders meeting with the governor on Sunday.
The meeting which was held at Governor Makinde’s private lodge in Bodija had in attendance, Dr. Saka Balogun, Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin Kareem, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Barr. Bayo Lawal, Senator Gbenga Babalola and Engineer Abu Salami.
The trio of Engineer Abu Salami, Gbenga Babalola and Alhaji Abdulrasak Kareem are aspirants.
A source at the meeting hinted that after a long deliberation and discussion the leaders unanimously adopted Hon. Wolekanle and promised to work for his victory and that of the Party.
Akinwole was not reachable for his reactions as at the time of filing this report, but a souce close to him confirmed that it is true and that the next thing is to commence consultations and meetings with stakeholders on the way forward.
