The candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and former Oyo APC’s Spokesman, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, has condemned what he described as the painful and undeserved marginalization of his people by the successive administrations in the state.
Sadare, in a statement issued and made available to journalists in Ibadan by his media aide, Mr. Olalekan Atanda, expressed dismay “over poor government presence in virtually all the communities in Egbeda Local Government as well as Ajorosun Local Council Development Area despite what we bring into the table for the state.
“Going by the results of last census exercise in the country, Egbeda is the fifth most populated Local Government Council in the state while it has also been rated as the fifth best contributor to the state’s economy. Unfortunately, our people have little or nothing to show for their huge contribution to the growth and development of the Pacesetters State and, by extension, Nigeria.
“Since 2003, the story has been the same; exclusion of qualified constituents in government appointments, poor road network, dearth of medical facilities and personnel, declining education facilities, abandonment of rural farmers and agricultural potential, harassment of property owners and innocent citizens in certain communities among others.
“From Ogbere/Oremeji to Sawmill/Old Ife Road, Alakia/Adegbayi to Egbeda/Oluwo, Erunmu/Owobaale to Ataari/Adeleye, Olodo/Kumapayi to Wakajaye/Iyana Church, Monatan/Adogba to Ayepe/Breweries and over 250 other communities where almost a million people live, there is nothing like government impact and nobody seems to be concerned.
“While we sympathise with the people of the constituency for having to endure for this long, we urge voters to use the opportunity of 2019 general elections to put paid to the reign of incompetence, lies and cluelessness by casting the votes for Olawale Sadare as the next Honorable Member representing Egbeda in the Oyo State House of Assembly under the platform of the ADP”.
“There is gainsaying the fact that the ADP has emerged the only ray of hope for the state in view of the desire to replace a team of self-serving impostors with servant leaders and thus usher in good governance as against the current experience of hardship and deprivation. With Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala as governor, Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar as Oyo Central Senator and Hon. Akinwande Akinleye representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara in the Federal House of Representatives, one can be assured that our people are in for a good time.” The statement concluded.
