A frontline House of Representatives candidate for Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala has revealed how the vacuum his late father left can be filled, noting that the people of Ogbomoso can make it happen.

In a chat with PacesetterNews on Thursday in Ibadan, the late governor’s son added that the people of Ogbomoso and Oyo state are major determinants of how the vacuum can be filled.

He said: “It is difficult to enter my father’s shoes because they belong to the people of Ogbomoso. He left them for the good people of Ogbomoso. The only way we can fill the shoes is through togetherness and by putting our house together.

“I believe the vacuum can be filled through the people’s support. This election is beyond Olamiju and APC, it’s for the good people of Ogbomoso. The shoes are meant to be filled for the growth and development of Ogbomosoland than my father left them. They are not shoes for me to enter but for the entire Ogbomoso people.

“My father left a precedent and standard for Ogbomoso that we should not compromise”.

The former Local Government boss charged the youths to be actively involved in politics, ask questions and know their representatives.

“Come February 2023, I’ll be contesting for the post of House of Representatives to represent the good people of Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal Constituency in Oyo State.

“I am contesting for the position to make the voice of my people be heard. I have been a Local Government Chairman. I have been with the people at the grassroots, interacted with them and I understand what they want and need as they are proud of me.

“I believe the best way to achieve that their voices can be heard is to represent them properly at the federal level so that whatever they want and need can reflect in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and be delivered.

“My father and political leader, late Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala was a bonafide member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I started my career in APC, he left me in APC and I have been following his footsteps.

“My father’s name is an institute which I can’t afford to tarnish”, he stated.
