UPDATE: Officers of Correctional Services Clash with Okada Riders in Ibadan, as Police Foils Attack on Yemetu Police Station (PICTURES)

Officers of Nigerian Correctional Services, on Tuesday, clashed with commercial motorcycle operators at Agodi Gate Bus Stop Ibadan.

Eyewitnesses told Pacesetter News that the clash erupted when some officers of NCS instructed Okada Riders plying the Iwo- Road and Bashorun-Akobo road not to pack opposite the prison yard.

There were reported sporadic gunshots as residents scamper for safety. The Pacesetter News was informed that Armoured Personnel Carrier stationed at the area has been set on fire by hoodlums.

Some citizens fell to police bullets, according to our sources.

Hoodlums, numbering hundreds were seeing moving to Yemetu Police Station with the intention of causing mayhem but officers of Nigerian Police foiled their plan.

Confirming the incident, Oyo Police Command Public Relation Officer , Gbenga Fadeyi said, “It is true that there was a clash but police officers and security men from sister agencies are on ground to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order”.

While debunking the the claims that a police officers shot one of the, Fadeyi said ” Our men were there to ensure peace reign and avoid any breakdown , they did not shot anybody as being peddled on the social media”
