An Octogenarian and widow of late Oil and Gas magnate, Mrs. Olabisi Oyediji, has requested the intervention of Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadanland and relevant authorities over a bid to re-possess one of her leased properties, Debistol Petroleum Nigeria Limited.
She said the property, a filling station located at Akobo in Ibadan was leased out for ten years to one Mr. Marcus Omoniyi because she was running the business at a loss.
Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, Oyediji alleged that Omoniyi was doing contrary to the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between them, stating that Omoniyi should desist from alleged acts capable of destroying life and properties in and around the fuel station.
She lamented that it appears that the leaser is deliberately erring in planning standards and laws guiding physical development in Oyo State by erecting alleged illegal structures in the fuel station.
She stated that out of ten years in the contractual agreement, the present occupier has spent six, saying she was ready to pay off the remaining four-year balance over alleged breaches of the contractual agreement.
She said the place was licensed as a filling station by the former Directorate of Petroleum Resources but all manners of business outlets have been sited on the plot of land, including a suya spot, which is dangerous to the well being of the residents.
Oyediji, who accused the present occupier of the place of not allowing her have access to the place and also threat to her life, called for the swift intervention of Governor Makinde and other eminent citizens of Ibadanland.
When newsmen visited the controversial filling station, the accused, Marcus Omoniyi expressed shock over the allegations against him.
He denied Oyediji’s allegation of putting up a structure on the underground tank.
Omoniyi and his station manager took newsmen to where the tank heads were located in an open place contrary to the argument of Mrs. Oyediji.
He said that he has been dragged before the Commissioner of Police, Oyo state over the matter and others.
He however said that he was surprised that another matter is being raised on this issue.
