Stakeholders in Ibadanland have urged the Aare of Ibadanland who is also the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Daud Akinola Makanjuola a.k.a D Damark against compromising due process that produced Alhaja Saratu Konibaje as the Iyaloja General of Oyo State.
The stakeholders vowed that such plan will not materialise, expressing disappointment on how Aare of Ibadanland could turned against the ancient city over the Iyaloja General of Oyo State tussle.
It was alleged that the highly respected Muslim leader was said to have taken a factional Iyaloja of Oyo State, Princess Nurudeen Abeo to residence of former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja for Iftar.
He was allegedly quoted saying Abeo is the authentic Iyaloja General, and Abeo should beg the Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekin Abass, who was also in attendance at the meeting.
It was reported that Y. K Abass was totally embarrassed with the developement and explained to Otun Olubadan at the meeting that Alhaja Sarat Aduke Konibaje was favoured by the due process before he left the meeting.
A statement by Abass, Alhaja Iyadunni and the Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade urged Aare of Ibadanland to desist from the plan or face the anger of Ibadan people.
According to the statement, Ibadan people will not take it easy with anybody that is against due process.
The statement wondered why Akinola can still came up with such a position despite the fact that he was at high level meeting at Ibadan house, Oke Aremo where the decision to accept due process was taken.
The statement said compromising due process that produced Sarat Konibaje posed danger to activities of market men and women across the state.
