The Eniosa-Onibepe Community in Ibadan recently celebrated three distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to humanity.
The event, held at the Apple Gbamgba Event Center was a grand affair attended by traditional rulers, captains of industry, political figures, religious leaders, and youth representatives.
Chief Benedict Akika, the Agbaakin of Olorunda Abaa and Mayegun of Akobo Land were among the honorees. Renowned for his tireless efforts to uplift the lives of Eniosa-Onibepe residents and the broader Lagelu Local Government, Akika has significantly enhanced connectivity and economic activities in the area.
His philanthropy spans educational sponsorships and direct support for vulnerable groups, earning him immense respect within the community. Residents expressed optimism about Akika’s ongoing efforts, particularly the anticipated completion of the Olorunda AbaaāEniosa road project and other infrastructure developments.
Chief Ademola Babalola, Chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), was also recognized for his transformational leadership in journalism. His tenure has fostered peaceful relations between journalists, security agencies, and other stakeholders.
Babalolaās commitment to ethical journalism and strong interpersonal relations has ensured a harassment-free environment for media practitioners in the state. Beyond his professional contributions, his generosity has earned him admiration across various sectors.
Businessman Mr. Oladapo Kazeem was honored for his impactful philanthropic activities, including sponsoring the return of “out-of-school” children to classrooms and ensuring their welfare.
Kazeem’s dedication to improving community welfare extends to providing support for the elderly and vulnerable groups. His commitment to public health is evident in his funding of a modern, well-equipped toilet facility at the Eniosa market.
Acknowledging Community Development Executives
The event also celebrated the outgoing executives of the Eniosa-Onibepe Community Development Association for their dedication to unity and progress during their tenure. Pastor Adetayo Musa Adeoye, leader of the association, commended the awardees for their selflessness and relentless efforts to improve the lives of community members.
