Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, House of Representatives member and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has donated the sum of five million naira towards the development of the Ayete central mosque in Ayete town, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of the state.
Olajide Odidiomo made the donation, while addressing the congregation shortly after the congregational jumat prayer at the mosque during a visit to the community.
He said the five million was a modest contribution aimed at supporting the ongoing development of the mosque and assured the muslim community in Ayete of his continued support for initiatives that promote religious development, social welfare and community advancement.
According to him, “religious centres remain important pillars in the moral upbringing of society and deserve the support of well meaning individuals and public office holders.”
Olajide noted that charity, known in Islam as Sadaqah, goes beyond financial assistance and includes acts of kindness, compassion and support for those in need.
He said the teachings of Islam encourage believers to cultivate generosity and forgiveness as essential virtues for building peaceful and prosperous communities.
“Charity solidifies the bond within our communities and ensures that no one is left behind, while forgiveness heals wounds, restores relationships and promotes lasting peace,” he said.
The federal lawmaker further urged citizens to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan by demonstrating compassion, tolerance and mutual respect in their daily interactions.
