The Oyo state gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has called on party members across the state to turn out en masse today, Saturday, for the APC presidential primary and vote overwhelmingly for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during a mobilization meeting with party stakeholders in Ibadan, Senator Alli said the primary offered Oyo APC a chance to reaffirm its commitment to the party’s unity and “to back our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our candidate with proven capacity for national leadership.

“I am urging all our teeming APC members in Oyo state to troop out today across the 351 political wards and cast their votes massively for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Alli said.

He described Tinubu as “a tested leader whose track record in office in the last three years and contributions to the growth of the APC speak for themselves,” adding that a strong showing from Oyo would send a clear signal of the state’s alignment with the party’s mainstream.

The senator noted that ward-level coordination had been put in place to ensure a smooth turnout and orderly voting process.

He therefore urged members to conduct themselves peacefully and to prioritise the collective interest of the party.

“Our strength lies in our unity and our ability to mobilise at the grassroots. Today is about making that strength count for Asiwaju and for the future of our party,” he added.

Party officials at the meeting said logistics and sensitization efforts had been extended to all local government areas to support the turnout.

The APC presidential primary is being held nationwide to select the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 general election.
