The Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, on Friday strengthened his personal engagement with the muslim community by donating 5 million Naira towards the installation of a solar power system at the Gbagi Central Mosque, Lebanon street, Ogunpa, Ibadan.
The donation was announced shortly after the lawmaker observed the weekly Friday Jumat prayer with muslim faithful at the mosque, where he reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote religious activities in the state.
According to a statement made available to journalists by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to the federal lawmaker, the intervention is aimed at providing a reliable alternative power supply to enhance activities within the mosque and improve the comfort of worshippers.
Addressing the congregation, Olajide said his philosophy of leadership has always been about serving humanity through practical interventions that improve the welfare of communities, irrespective of religious or ethnic considerations. He described places of worship as vital institutions for promoting moral values, unity and discipline, stressing that supporting faith based organizations remains an investment in the social and moral development of society.
He noted that the installation of a solar power system would guarantee uninterrupted electricity for religious programmes and other community based activities hosted by the mosque.
The lawmaker urged muslim faithfuls to continue offering prayers for peace, security and economic prosperity in Oyo state and Nigeria, while encouraging leaders at all levels to place the welfare of the people above personal interests.
Olajide reaffirmed his commitment to promoting social intervention programmes across the nine local government areas of Oyo south senatorial district, noting that his years in the House of Representatives have been defined by projects and programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, empowering constituents and supporting religious, educational and security institutions.
Hon. Olajide Odidiomo assured the people that, if elected to represent Oyo south in the senate, he would continue to facilitate developmental projects, encourage community engagement and pursue policies that promote inclusive growth across the district.
Leaders of the mosque expressed appreciation to the federal lawmaker for the generous donation, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
They prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and wisdom for Olajide, his constituency activities and his senatorial ambition.
