In continuation of his commitment to restore livelihoods damaged during the recent violent attack in Ibadan last week, the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South/West Federal Constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, today presented a brand new motorcycle to the commercial rider who was brutally assaulted and had his motorcycle carted away during the Molete market unrest.
The official handover ceremony took place in Ibadan, in fulfillment of the lawmaker’s pledge to cushion the hardship faced by victims of the unexpected mayhem.
In an official statement issued in Ibadan by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, the federal lawmaker affirmed that the gesture aligns with his core political philosophy of safeguarding the welfare, security, and economic survival of his constituents. Mustapha emphasized that the commercial rider, whose primary source of daily livelihood was violently taken away during the incident, was directly targeted while lawfully plying his trade within the Molete axis, a core area falling under the lawmaker’s federal constituency jurisdiction.
The gesture comes on the heels of financial cash disbursements made earlier to affected traders operating under the Molete flyover bridge whose goods and trading assets were looted and destroyed by hoodlums.
Reaffirming his dedication to responsive governance, Hon. Olajide, who is also the Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for the 2027 general election, reiterated that no law abiding citizen across Oyo south senatorial district will be left stranded in times of need or uncompensated following acts of unprovoked political violence or lawlessness.
Receiving the brand new motorcycle with gratitude, the beneficiary, Adedeji Ismail Aliu, commended the lawmaker , Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo for his swift intervention, empathy and integrity in keeping to his word.
He called on security agencies to intensify investigations to apprehend and prosecute every perpetrator and sponsor of the Molete attack, while reassuring the Oyo south senatorial hopeful that the motorcycle will be put to judicious use to cater for both his immediate and extended family needs.
