The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced members of the party’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention. The NEC also approved the Edo primary elections that produced Pastor Ize Iyamu as its governorship candidate.
The Pacesetter News gathered that the NEC meeting mandated the caretaker committee to organize a National Convention of the Party within six (6) months. According to inside sources, the convention, which May likely hold in December of this year, will usher in new officials of the party.
The members of the party’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention include:
1. Governor Mai Mala Buni (Yobe) Chairman
2. Isiaka Oyetola, Governor Osun (Southwest)
3. Senator Ken Nnamani (Southeast)
4. Stella Okorete – Women Rep
5. Governor Sani Bello (North Central)
6. Dr. James Lalu (Physically challenged)
7. Sen. Abubakar Yusuf- Senate Rep
8. Hon. Akinyemi Olaide – House of Reps
9. David Lyon – (Southsouth)
10. Abba Ari -(Northwest)
11. Prof. Tahir Mamman – (Northeast)
12. Ismail Ahmed – Youth
13. Sen. Akpan Udoedehe- Secretary
The New Caretaker Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, in his remarks after the meeting said, “nobody is happy with the situation under which party has been operating. This decision was taken by NEC to address these issues, nobody is being targeted and it’s against nobody”.
