Oyo State Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), Sheikh Hashim Atere on Thursday appreciated the grand reception organised by the Turaki-Adeen of Oyo State, Engr. Jelili Adekunle Kareem (Mogaji Adanla family) in honour of his recent appointment as the board’s chairman.
Atere, who spoke to reporters at the sideline of an event in Ibadan, said the coming together of all Alfas and Imams across the length and breadth of the State by Mogaji Adanla has shown that he is indeed a leader in the Islamic community of the State.
Atere said Adanla truly deserved his leadership role amongst the Muslim community and “I can say without any doubt that he is the best man for the position of Turaki-Adeen.”
According to Atere, “the reception sponsored by the Mogaji Adanla, our Turaki-Adeen of the State came as a surprise and became a great event which brought together all the Alfas and Imams across the State.
“It also provided atmosphere for the Islamic clerics to pray for the success of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde administration.
“Once again, our special appreciation goes to our amiable Governor for finding me worthy. And with the supports we are receiving daily from our Islamic leaders and Muslim communities in the State, we will excel in the tasks at hand and provide purposeful leadership and enviable welfare services to all our pilgrims, going forward,” Atere added.
