Hundreds of Ikorodu residents in Lagos State, have benefitted from a one-day free medical outreach, food and cash supports organised by Janet Oluwaremilekun Adesina Memorial Foundation.
The healthcare outreach, food and cash supports was held on Saturday, 26 September 2026 at No. 19 Suberu Ogunsanya Street, United Apostolic Church Headquarter in Ikorodu, Lagos state.
The organiser who is the founder of Janet Oluwaremilekun Adesina Memorial Foundation, Jacob Adesina said he is hoping to attend to about 500 Ikorodu residents in honour of his precious mother who died 30 years ago.
Speaking at the launching programme, Adesina, said the outreach was brought to help people who cannot afford good healthcare and to continue with the legacy of his late mother.
He said the foundation believes everyone should have access to healthcare and good life, adding that many people cannot afford cost of living and treatment.
“Thirty years ago, on September 24, 1996, I lost my mother.
“Although her life was cut short, her impact remains deeply felt. Those who knew her continue to testify to her remarkable generosity, compassion, and commitment to community service. She devoted her time, energy, and resources to uplifting others and improving the lives of those around her. Her legacy of selflessness has remained a source of inspiration and strength for me.
“Three decades after her passing, her memory continues to guide and inspire us. To honor her enduring legacy and preserve the values she embodied, and as the only surviving child of three, I have decided to establish a foundation in her name. The foundation will be officially launched on September 24, 2026, marking the thirtieth anniversary of her transition.
“Through this initiative, we hope to continue her lifelong commitment to service, empowerment, and community development, ensuring that her vision of helping others lives on for future generations.

The Academician noted that the foundation was happy with the number of people who had turned up and hoped to reach over 500 people in Ikorodu.
He stated that his organisation is ready to be involved in so many social intervention activities in Ikorodu, Nigeria and Africa.
The Historian said the programme provided blood pressure check, malaria and typhoid testings, basic health screening, distribution of appropriate medications, eyes screening, distribution of Eyeglasses where appropriate, distribution of foodstuff, cash assistance for selected elderly people and widows.
It was added that the programme was open to people from all religions, noting the outreach was not based on religion or politics and that everyone could be tested and receive treatment for free.
He also called on individuals and organisations to support efforts to improve healthcare in the state.
