The House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency, under the platform of Accord in Oyo state, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku, has promised to establish a unique empowerment programme where people will be trained, equipped and supported inline with their field of interest, professional qualifications and skills to reduce unemployment and starvation in his community.

Speaking at a programme organised by Journalists at the Press Center, Iyaganku in Ibadan on Monday, Ajanaku who was represented by his media and strategic planning consultant, Mr. Adebowale Adeoye said he is ready to change the narratives and liberate Oyo State people from fraudulent and unsustainable constituency projects.

Ajanaku in his speech which was delivered by Adeoye, said, “my projection is to lift the burden of debt, poverty, insecurity and antipeople’s policy off my people’s shoulders, not to join multitude who derive joy in inflicting hardship on the masses and tax payers in Nigeria.

“I believe residents of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency are well exposed and civilized, they deserve total transformation of all communities under our constituency and I will not disappoint them. I grew up with them, I am well known here, I am one of them and I will change the narrative. We shall work together to make things work out, it’s our collective responsibilities and I will champion the struggle.

“The era of distributing sewing and grinding machines to residents within the same community has gone. It’s an insult to give wheelbarrows to traders as empowerment project, they deserved better assistance. I have instituted through Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku Foundation, an empowerment programme that will identify each benefactor’s area on needs, professional career and skill, then equip and set them up. We shall support young agriculturists, scholarship project and fund raising for traders.”

He  also promised to ensure regular town hall meetings with community leaders, youths and journalists.

“Let me also assure you of holding regular town hall meeting with community leaders, political leaders, youths, residents and traders, as well as Journalists, to brainstorm on how to improve the standard of living of the people in our communities, state and nation.

“2023 elections will hold and be peaceful, let’s all get to the polling center as early as we can, maintain peace and order. By the grace of God, I, through the support of my people, political leaders, youths and residents of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Local Government Councils will emerge the winner of house of representatives election in Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency on Saturday, February 25, 2023,” Ajanaku stated.
