A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao (Allow Alao), has congratulated the Muslim faithful in the country, particularly in Oyo State, as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad
Alao in a statement he personally signed charged the Muslim Ummah to emulate the teachings and deeds of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), stating that as adherents of Islam they owe it a duty to imbibe his teachings which are about godliness, sacrifice, peace, unity, and compassion.
He also appealed to the Muslim Ummah to continue to work with other religious denominations for peace and sustainable growth and development of the country, noting that Nigerians must come together to have a better society irrespective of religious, political and ethnic differences.
According to him, “I want to sincerely rejoice with the Muslim Ummah in our dear state, Nigeria and all over the world on this occasion of Eid-el-Maulud. For me the occasion for the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed, presents an opportunity to reflect on the life and times of the Holy Prophet, especially the virtues of empathy, love, peaceful-coexistence, selfless service to humanity, among others, which he preached and was also noted for.
“It is imperative that we all continue to build bridges of understanding and friendship among the different faiths, such that our society remains a beacon of peace and unity.”
The Asiwaju of Irokoland then wished the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians as a whole a merry and hitch-free celebration.
