As Engr. Seyi Makinde clocks 53 years on Christmas Day, the former Vice President of Nigeria and 2019 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) – Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has extended birthday greetings to the Oyo State Governor.
Atiku, via his verified Twitter account, tweeted as follow:
“I am glad to celebrate my friend, Governor @seyiamakinde on his birthday today. Sharing the same day of birthday with the harbinger of a great faith is symbolic. While I congratulate you on this double celebration, I urge you to continue the good work with even greater vigour”.
“Wishing you many happy returns, Your Excellency”.
The PDP national, in a birthday tribute signed by its National Publicity Secretary- Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, described Governor Makinde as an exceptionally ingenious administrator, whose unwavering commitment in pursuing the welfare of Oyo State people, in line with the manifesto of the party, has elevated the bar for governance performance rating in Nigeria.
The statement noted that Governor Makinde has distinguished himself as an extraordinary personality, a good hearted individual and excellent manager of resources, whose sacrifices for the good of Oyo State people is a clear demonstration that the true essence of statesmanship lies in utilizing its exceptional opportunities for the benefit of others rather than self.
PDP said that it is indeed proud of Engr. Makinde’s efforts in elevating the living standard of Oyo State people as well as his resounding achievements in infrastructural development and other critical sectors of education, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, water resources among others.
“Moreover, Governor @seyiamakinde has also shown himself a very loyal party man, who has continued to make personal sacrifices for the development of our party”.
“The PDP therefore celebrates Governor Makinde and prays God to continue to grant him good health, more wisdom and many more years so that his state, Oyo, our party, the PDP, our nation, Nigeria and humanity at large, will continue to benefit from his wealth of experience and patriotism” the statement concluded.
