Valuables worth millions of naira were reportedly lost on Tuesday night, following an inferno that engulfed Sabo market, which is the biggest farmers’ market in Oyo town.
The inferno was said to have started around 10pm on Tuesday and later extended to other parts of the market.
According to an eyewitness report, too much damages had been done before the arrival of the fire fighters. However, the cause of the fire incident is yet to be known as at the time of filing this report.
Recall, Akesan market was razed to ashes in 2020, though reconstruction is in process.
