COVID-19: Oyo Records One Confirmed Case; Maintains 14th Position on the Log

The Oyo State Government has confirmed one new case of coronavirus. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 65.

Confirming the new case, Governor Seyi Makinde in his official facebook page, wrote “the COVID-19 confirmation test for one suspected case came back POSITIVE. The case is from Ibadan South West Local Government Area. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8 PM today, is sixty-five”.

Meanwhile, the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria has continued to rise rapidly as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed Nigeria now has 4,641 confirmed cases.

On Monday, 11th of May 2020, 242 new confirmed cases and 10 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. To date, 4641 cases have been confirmed, 902 cases have been discharged and 150 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 242 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (88), Kano (64), Katsina (49), Kaduna (13), Ogun (9), Gombe (6), Adamawa (4), FCT (3), Ondo (1), Oyo (1), Rivers (1), Zamfara (1), Borno (1), Bauchi (1).
