Eid-al-adha: Let’s Celebrate In Peace, Hakeem Alao Tells Muslim Faithful

Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate in the 2019 election in Oyo State, has rejoiced with all Muslim faithful all over the world, particularly in the state, wishing them barika de sallah as he enjoins every Nigerian to celebrate in peace.

The greetings and admonition were contained in a release by Omotayo Iyanda, the media spokesman to Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao which was made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The former AD gubernatorial candidate extended his sallah greetings to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alhaji Sheik Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere, the Baba Adini of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta State, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola, all Muslim leaders in Oyo State, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Làmídì Adeyemi, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade, High Chief Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja and other religious as well as political leaders in the state.

Alao who is a principal consulting engineer in oil and gas, appealed to Nigerians to celebrate this year’s sallah in peace considering all sorts of killings and heinous crimes in the land and fragile point at which the country had found itself.

While condemning the recent killing of another four people in Igangan, he commiserated with the people of Ibarapa land and Oyo State as a whole. Alao, reminded the killers, whether disguised gunmen or government uniformed men, that “Allah forbids taking life of another man, particularly in a situation like those of Igangan, and He would surely visit his wrath on the heartless killers of another man.”

Hakeem Alao called on governments at all levels to sincerely bring down those visiting evils on the people of the axis by improving surveillance and intelligence gathering and tightening security in the area.

He further noted that it was wrong and evil for any man to be killing his fellow humans, particularly in a season as Eid-el-Kabir.

Engr. Alao added that he was happy for everybody witnessing this year’s Eid-el-Kabir despite all the difficult moments of 2021 ranging from Covid-19 pandemic with its new Delta variant and all crimes as well as economic hardship that had taken over the Nigeria terrains.

He, however, enjoined the people of Oyo State to celebrate in peace by averting all activities and temptations that could run the country aground and observe Covid-19 protocols strictly so as to witness another Eid-el-Kabir.
