As the nationwide protests continue to spread against the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Peoples Democratic Party chieftain who was the former Ogbomoso North Council Secretary, Hon. Akinwole Akinwale, has condemned the killing of one of the protesters in the town and commiserate with the family.
Akinwole who described the attack on the protesters as barbaric condoled with the families of the deceased and that of the youths who sustained injuries during the face-off with the police last Saturday.
In a chat with newsmen, Hon. Akinwole called on the police authorities to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of Mr. Jimoh Isiaka and fish out the culprit who shot the young man during the #EndSars protest.
He also expressed concern over the incessant cases of extrajudicial killings, harassment, illegal arrest and extortion of Nigerian youths by some FSARS operatives in the country.
Wolekanle urged the protesters to sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign in Ogbomoso.
“I am so sad that what ought to be a peaceful protest on Saturday turned bloody to the point that the life of a promising young man in the process was lost.
“I commiserate with the families of Mr. Jimoh Isiaka and others who sustained injuries during the face-off with the security operatives.” He said
