Members of the Federal Information Chapel, under the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council who were part of state delegates to the recently concluded 7th Triennial NUJ Delegates Conference held in Umuahia, Abia State, have lauded the state council of the union for a successful conference.
In a statement signed by the secretary of the chapel, Comrade Joshua Ogundare, the participated members expressed their gratitude to the Chairman, Oyo State Council, Comrade Ademola Babalola led-executive for not only including them in the state-contingent but also taking care of them before, during and after the trip.
Ogundare said, āWe appreciate the unprecedented and faultless manner the Oyo State contingent were pampered throughout the trip.
āMay God continue to strengthen you as you continue to strive to take our Union to greater heights.ā
It should be recalled that Pacesetter news earlier reported that despite the withdrawal of his major opponent, journalists who were delegates on Thursday still affirmed the re-election of Comrade Chris Isiguzo, the incumbent National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He was re-elected at the 7th triennial delegates conference held in Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Thursday after he got 665 votes from 704 voters accredited for the election while his opponent, Yusuf Idris polled 15 votes while 22votes were declared invalid.
