The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Reconciliation Committee set up by late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and a former Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, Prince Gbade Lana has said that the people are defecting in large numbers to the opposition party APC in the state ahead of 2023 because of the non-performance of Governor Seyi Makinde in office.
According to him while fielding questions from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on BOTTOM LINE, a weekly Political programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan mornitored by our correspondent, he said when the time comes, the incumbent government which is a product of the Peoples Democratic Party will pay darely for running governnent ineptly.
The APC stalwart said “let prosperity judge who is working. Look, you cannot compare an Elephant to an ant. How can you compare the performance of Senator Abiola Ajimobi to what is happening in Oyo State presently? I am here to let you know that APC is coming back as a strong party to take over from the ineptitude government that we have in Oyo State at the momentā.
āIf people are now coming back to the APC, itās because they have seen it as the only viable alternative to checkmate what the PDP is doing in Oyo State. So, if everybody now comes in to the APC, their contributions will build the partyā.
When asked if he is not disturbed about the popularity of Governor Seyi Makinde, the former Local Government Chairman said āyou should understand that Politicians donāt just talk anyhow. Yes! There are sycophants in all the parties, there are sycophants to the leaders in different parties but it is what you do that people seeā.
