Ilaji Resort Boss, Engr. Dotun Sanusi has debunked an allegation of alleged vote-buying levelled against him.
Residents of the state woke up to allegations that the Ilaji Resort boss was making cash transfers to the electorates to get their support in the March 18 election.
Speaking with journalists at his Resort, in Akanran on Saturday, Sanusi said the accusation is coming as a result of his popularity among the people.
He said, “The people who made the allegation are only displaying the gasps of a drowning man. They discovered they may be losing already.
“Not too long ago, during the Presidential election, I told them my choice, and during this election too I made my choice known.
The Ilaji boss commended the electoral process, saying it is the best so far.
Earlier, a group has accused the chairman of Ilaji Resort of moving round Ona Ara villages with money.
The group, Oyo Integrity Forum, asked the police to arrest him immediately so as to caution him.
Dele Isiaka, who made this known, said “While we have no issue with whoever anybody supports, we believe that campaign is over and nobody should be going around on election date, distributing money to induce voters. This is against the letters of the electoral value.
“The police should swing into action and arrest them.”
