The Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses has released the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures in Urhobo and Pidgin West Africa languages with the goal of making the Kingdom message more accessible and understandable to many speakers of the languages.

The organization that reports a worldwide membership of approximately 8.5 million adherents who are involved in evangelism and observe an annual Memorial of Christ’s death with attendance of over 19.7 million, revealed this on Sunday in a special program organized by the denomination.

It should be noted that Jehovah’s Witnesses is a spirit-directed organization governed by the word of God, as enshrined in the scriptures.

They believe that the destruction of the present wicked world system at Armageddon is imminent, and that the establishment of God’s kingdom over the earth is the only solution for all problems faced by humanity.

According to the local spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mr. Gill Adekannbi, he said that the provision will no doubt help people to understand the Kingdom’s message in the language of their heart.

“The special program has been arranged to provide updates on the activities of Jehovah witnesses in Nigeria. It also affords witnesses the opportunity to listen to upbuilding talks by our world headquarters representatives.

“A major highlight of the special program is the release of the Christian Greek scriptures in Urhobo and pidgin (West Africa) languages. Indeed, this is another milestone in the activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Nigeria.

“Pidgin English is spoken by over 75 million persons in Nigeria. Users are in West Africa, Europe and the US. These speakers deserve to understand God’s Word without the hinderance of language. They need to hear the Kingdom message in the language of their heart.

“We greatly value it when people hear the good news of God’s kingdom in the language they understand very well because we desire them to be moved from their heart to love God and enjoy the blessings of doing his will.”
