The leadership of the Coalition of Traders, Artisans, Market Men and Women has condemned the installation of Princess Azeezat Folashade Nurudeen, otherwise known as Abeo Osa, described the act as fraudulent.
Speaking with news men in Ibadan on Wednesday, the Secretary of the coalition, Comrade Ayobami Ajala said any action taken at the palace of Alaafin on Monday 26th of April, 2021, concerning illegal installation of Princess Abeo as Iyaloja-General of Oyo State should be regarded as null and void.
“We have heard about the illegal installation of one Princess Azeezat Folashade Nurudeen otherwise known as Abeo Osa at the palace of our highly referred royal father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi lll, the Alaafin of Oyo, it’s nothing to worry about because process and money wasted were efforts in futility.
“If you listen to the speech made by our father, Kabiyesi, the permanent Chairman of the Traditional Council in Oyo State, Oba Adeyemi you would agree that these criminals, shameless human beings fraudulently deceived and persuaded Kabiyesi to bless Abeo Osa.
The same criminals on February 13, 2020 performed similar illegality at the food canteen belonging to one Alhaja Amudalat Lawal, aka Iyadunni under Oyo State Market Leaders Council. They installed unsuspected innocent woman as Iyaloja-General of Oyo State and Mrs. Labeke Lawal as Otun Iyaloja-General same day.
“Oyo State Market Leaders Council was not duly registered, it was established in collaboration with Oyo State Government, that was why the director of trade under Oyo State Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry was made the Secretary of the council. Hence the appointment of anyone to any position in any of our associations or Union was outside the jurisdiction of this council.
“In addition, the Secretary of the Council was mandated to attend and take minutes at any of the council’s meeting. Was the issue of installation of Iyaloja-General and Otun Iyaloja-General stated in the minute written by the secretary? Let me also add this, the tenure of the Oyo State Market Leaders Council expired on 30th July, 2020.
“Whereas, these same people fraudulently used the same name to write a letter to the palace of Olubadan of Ibadanland on August 18th, 2020. How best do you think we should address such people if not criminals?
“Our umbrella body, the Coalition of the Traders, Artisans, Market Men and Women had on Monday 26th April, 2021 at 9am appointed and installed Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as the Iyaloja-General of Oyo State and subsequently presented her to the Congress of Babalojas, Iyalojas, Leader of Traders, Artisans, Market Men and Women for ratification on Tuesday 27th April, 2021 at the Trans Amusement Park, Bodija International Market, Ibadan; of which the Congress had ratified together with other issues.
“For your information the same body that installed, the late Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi and the Acting Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Chief (Mrs.) Justina Iyabode Ogundoyin responsible for the installation of Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as Iyaloja-General of Oyo State. Could you now tell me, how come they cunningly lobbied Alaafin to assist in installing their prey? Abeo as fell into wrong hands, she should hold them responsible for the show of shame that happened in Oyo,” Ajala stated.
Meanwhile, Comrade Ajala said the umbrella body of traders, artisans, market men and women will sit to determine appropriate punishment against the criminals defacing the various bodies under the coalition.
