Miss Oyo 2024: ‘Odidiomo’ Supports Contestants With Cash Donations

The festive spirit in Ibadan soared on Christmas Eve as Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, lawmaker representing Ibadan South-West/Ibadan North-West federal constituency of Oyo state, left a remarkable impact on the lives of the entire 25 contestants at the grand finale of the Miss Oyo 2024 beauty pageant.

 

It will be recalled, that the event, held at Jogor Events Centre, Ibadan, celebrated youth, talent and community impact and saw 19-year-old Oladimeji Mercy Esther, a student of LAUTECH, emerge as Miss Oyo 2024 amidst cheers and excitement.

 

Hon. Olajide, known for his philanthropy and commitment to community development, donated millions of naira in cash support to the 25 contestants, reaffirming his belief in empowering the youth.

 

Earlier at the event, the lawmaker highlighted the importance of fostering young talents.

 

According to him, “Events like this are not just about showcasing beauty but also about celebrating the intelligence and potential of our youth and I am committed to supporting initiatives that empower young people to achieve their dreams,” he stated.

 

Hon. Olajide further emphasized the need for mentorship programs and skill acquisition opportunities for the younger generation, urging stakeholders to invest more in youth empowerment.

 

Each of the 25 contestants, who showcased their talent at the beauty pageant were credited with the sum of N100,000 each in Christmas eve by the two term PDP lawmaker, as part of his contribution to their growth and also to support them for the festive season.

 

Hon. Adedeji Olajide had previously supported past editions of the pageant, including donating a Toyota Corolla car to the 2022 winner of the competition.
