NGO Trains 400 People In Oyo

In a bid to reduce youth unemployment in Nigeria, CLUBKONNET has trained about 400 people on how to harness the Social Media as well as CLUBKONNECT platforms for financial prosperity.

The skill acquisition seminar which had in attendance youth and adults was held on Saturday at Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

According to the General Manager of Nellobyte Systems Limited, Mr. Joseph Oyebanji, “CLUBKONNECT is a brand that is committed to creating positive change through her created opportunities within the distribution chain of the telecoms products and services in Nigeria.

“The high unemployment in Nigeria informed CLUBKONNET’s decision to design the programme to address the menace in a very practical way by equipping the youths with market-relevant skills.

“As an organization, we are resolute to strengthening our position as a leading light in the sales and distribution domain for airtime, data bundles, Cable TVs subscriptions, energy units, Data, airtime and WAEC e-PINs in Nigeria; using the latest and best technologies to ensure round-the-clock, swift, efficient and reliable service delivery.

“Addressing unemployment remains one of the most significant development challenges at this time for governments and actors at the national and sub-national levels, including Oyo state. And that is why we have organised this free seminar to sensitise the people and to empower them. We are training them on how they can become their boss.”

He further stated that one of the objectives of organizing the free skills acquisition and empowerment seminar in Ibadan is to spread prosperity and empower the highly enterprising, skillful and vibrant people of Oyo State to fulfill their potentials and realize their dreams.

The CLUBKONNET trained the participants in the sales and distribution domain for airtime, data bundles, Cable TVs subscriptions, energy units, Data, airtime and WAEC e-PINs in Nigeria; using the latest and best technologies to ensure round-the-clock, swift, efficient and reliable service delivery that showed great potential for youth employment.

According to information made available by the firm, the nation would be a better place if the people tailor their innovative ideas towards solving the problems of unemployment and poverty by providing solutions that would be sustainable, long-lasting and seamless to harness.

Babatunde Ilerioluwa, consultant of CLUBKONNET, said this informed the project’s decision to focus on making the people financially independent.

He said “This is a kind of empowerment and Human Capital Development to sensitise the people on how they can promote their individual businesses. It will make the people to use Social Media to enhance their respective businesses.

“The level of poverty and high level of unemployment triggered us to organize this training for the people, especially the youths to express their potentials. We are giving the platform for them to harness for their economic prosperity.”

One of the beneficiaries of the free skills acquisition and empowerment seminar who spoke with our correspondent stated that he derived joy from the impactful training sessions that he attended courtesy of Nellobyte Systems Limited, the sponsors of the CLUBKONNECT brand and he would ensure maximization of the CLUBKONNECT cum Social Media platforms for financial stability and onward economic prosperity.

Another beneficiary of the project, Ogundiran Adenike described the project as “amazing”. She said she was trained on how to be a business owner.

“I am happy. I have been trained on how to make money through the print of recharge cards and data. I have also learnt how to use Social Media to promote my business”.

Akintola Sharafadeen, said the project added values to him. Going forward, he said with the skills he has gained, he would be able to provide for his home through his mobile phone.

“This is going to be additional source of income for me because I have acquired skills to make use of the internet without involving in cybercrime”, he said.

In her closing remarks, Oyetunde Oyewumi, the customer care supervisor of the company, called on stakeholders especially government to adopt the CLUBKONNET model for youth job creation, noting that the government is at the centerpiece of addressing youth unemployment.
