“No to Imposition of Candidates; Primary Elections to Hold in 32 LGAs Except Egbeda” – Oyo PDP State Chairman

The State Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State – Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha has told aspirants jostling for chairmanship and councillorship tickets of the party that the State Executives would not be a party to imposition arrangements by some stakeholders.
Alhaji Mustapha while addressing thousands of protesting members during the weekend, restated the commitment of the party’s State Working Committee in ensuring an open process in choosing candidates ahead of the May 15 local government areas of Oyo State.
In his words, “I can assure that we will conduct primary elections in 32 local government areas except Egbeda, which has adopted consensus candidates by its stakeholders”.
Alhaji Mustapha assured that by Monday (today), modalities for the primary elections would be unveiled by the party.
