Obi condoles Makinde, Olubadan, Victims of Ibadan Explosion 

The Onyendu Ndigbo (Igbo Leader), of Ibadanland and Oyo State, High Chief Alloy Obi, has condoled with Governor Seyi Makinde, the state government and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, on the explosion which occurred in the Bodija area of Ibadan, last Tuesday night.

Obi in a statement by his Media Office on behalf of Ndigbo resident in Oyo State, also
sympathised with the immediate families of those who lost their lives and other victims of the explosion, describing it as tragic and heart rendering.

The Igbo Leader said he was devasted and heartbroken on hearing the sad incident,
praying that God will repose the souls of those who lost their lives and grant the families the fortitude to bear their loss while wishing those injured quick recovery.

He lauded Governor Makinde for the quick intervention of the state government to curtail the deadly explosion and rescuing many lives, urging the government to undertake a thorough investigation of the incident to prevent a re-occurence in the future.

According to him, “I was devasted and heartbroken on hearing the sad incident. However, I appreciate the quick intervention of the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde resulting in the rescue of many lives.

“I also urge the government to get to the root cause of this ugly incident to forestall future occurrences.

“May God grant all the injured quick recovery and also grant the bereaved families and all the victims the fortitude to bear the loss.”
