It’s been almost 18 months since the All Progressives Congress relinquished power in Oyo State, and looking back, we can clearly see how mistakes were made and how a set of decisions contributed to our loss at the polls.
These mistakes are everyone’s and we have to take responsibility at this point, lay down our ego, and foster genuine reconciliation devoid of animosity towards one another if we are ready to challenge and win in 2023.
It is sad that Senator Abiola Ajimobi is no more, however, we all have a duty to allow the reconciliation committee led by Otunba Alao Akala bridge all gaps and address all grievances in ensuring we once again have a full and formidable APC.
Being a member of the Oyo APC reconciliation committee, Senator Teslim Folarin has been extending olive branches to estranged members of our party who currently are considering returning to the fold.
These action has seen him meet with Barr Bayo Shittu, Barr Lowo Obisesan, Hon Murphy Adigun amongst others. We have to understand that we are stronger together, and if we allow continuous division resulting from individual interests to keep festering, then we still have a long walk to reaching genuine reconciliation.
We owe it to ourselves and the good people of Oyo state, to reach harmonious decision and bring everyone who has left back into the fold. Our party has incredibly delivered great dividends to the people of Oyo state, and the difference is quite clear from how those in power are currently managing the affairs and resources of our dear state.
So I am imploring our leaders, stakeholders and members to kindly sheathe their swords and give opportunity for true reconciliation, an avenue where everyone’s grievances will be aired, where forgiveness will be given and a strong bond of friendship will once again be formed in the Oyo APC.
