The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council has congratulated Mr Mufutau Ojo on his appointment as the Special Assistant to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Mr Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Mr Sola Oladapo.
The statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan, described the appointment as well deserved.
Ojo, a Deputy Editor-in-Chief with the agency, was until his new appointment the Manager of Ibadan Zonal Office.
The NUJ described Ojo as a thoroughbred professional, astute administrator and a leader who distinguished himself throughout his reign as the Zonal Manager of NAN Ibadan Zonal office.
“Everything you have done and accomplished have led to this point and you truly deserve it. You’ve always worn diligence, dedication and professionalism like a toga.
“You have worked so hard and created the necessary advantage to convince others of your potential and abilities.
“Your kindheartedness and managerial acumen have been a major topic since your appointment was made public,” it said.
It said further that “the union wholeheartedly identified with you because of your patriotic ideals, unbridled commitment to legacy and doggedness towards building the media industry.
“We are proud of you and as stakeholders in the Journalism sector, we are optimistic that you would give the required commitment to you boss towards repositioning the agency for greater heights,” the union said.
