Oyo State government has canceled staggered schedule, thereby directing all public and private schools to resume normal classes next academic session.
This is contained in a circular dated 24th of December, 2020 and signed by the Commissioner for Education, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
The circular directed schools to adhere strictly with the Covid-19 guidelines. It also urged the school managements to use all available infrastructure in the school suitable for classrooms in order to ensure required distancing.
The circular reads:
“I wish to remind all stakeholders of the staggered attendance of classes during the first term and that the second term 2020/2021Academic Session will commence from Monday 11 January, 2021.
“Consequent upon the above, all Public and Private Schools (Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Technical Colleges) in the State are to resume normal classes.
“However, you are to use all available infrastructures in the school suitable for temporary classrooms to ensure required distancing as well as continue to strictly observe other conditions stated in the guidelines for resumption due to COVID 19.”
