Oyo State on Saturday confirmed that 5 new cases of Coronavirus had been recorded in four local government areas of the state.
This was announced by Governor Seyi Makinde via his official facebook page. He said development had raised the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to 64.
According to the governor, “the COVID-19 confirmation tests for five suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from the following Local Government Areas: Ibadan North (2), a foreigner in Surulere, Ibadan North East (1) and Ibadan South West (1). So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is sixty-four”.
He appealed to the people of Oyo State to call Oyo State COVID-19 Taskforce Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 | 08095863000 | 08078288999 | 08078288800, if they found travellers from other states arriving in their communities.
Oyo State is now 14th on the Nigeria COVID-19 Log while total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria stands at 4151, according to the Director General for Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
