Despite the aggressive manner the youths engaged him, he managed to explain the Issues and debunked the fake news making the rounds on social media.

He did not know the callers yet he took their calls and explained to them he does not own LCC and has no oowers to deploy soldiers.

He also confirmed that he heard the report of the pandemonium at the toll gate and the alleged shootings like all of them did. He Had no prior knowledge of the deployment.

He reiterated that Governor Sanwo-olu has ordered investigations into the matter and everyone should remain calm, keep safe and be law abiding.

Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi, according to his son, Chief Rotimi Jogunosinmi died at the age of 86.

Chief Rotimi Jogunosinmi, a Mogaji of Jogunosinmi compound, Oja’ba who made the announcement on behalf of the family, said the Iyaloja will be buried today, Thursday at her residence, on Ring Road, Ibadan near D’ Rovans Hotel, back of Omo Gafo building Ibadan by 4pm.

The late Iyaloja of Oyo State was inaugurated in 2008 by the then Commissioner for Women Affairs, Social Welfare and Community Development, Mrs Deborah Oyelade during the administration of Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Chief Jogunosinmi expressed appreciation to the family members; the Oyo State Market Leaders Council; the South West Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Traders, Mrs Odunayo Omokayode Danjuma and the Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Alhaja Risiwat Ameringun for their supports to Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi during her reign as the Iyaloja of Oyo State.

The Senator representing Oyo South district in the 9th national assembly, Dr. Mohammed Kola Balogun has described the killing of #EndSars protesters on Tuesday 20/10/20 at Lekki tollgate as an act of terrorism and regrettably compounding the main agitation against brutality from law enforcement agents.

According to the statement released by the Special Adviser on Media, Senator Kola Balogun reteirates the motion by the Senate to avoid violent engagements and that the President should address the nation on this issue. It’s so sad that the peaceful protesters are demonstrating against unlawful killings and they are still being killed for daring to speak up (Soro soke).

“I want to express my deep condolences to the families of the youngsters, the future leaders whose destinies have been cut short due to the struggle for a New Nigeria. I can feel the agony and we pray that God grants these families the fortitude to bear this painful losses. Indeed, it was a black Tuesday in Nigeria”

Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, has rejected a pledge by Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for the sum of One Hundred Million (N100M) naira for the cost of renovation and repairs of the ancient and expansive Ogbomoso Palace, which was attacked and damaged by hoodlums, thugs and miscreants, who disguised as #EndSARS protesters recently.

Following the violent attack, the Governor, during his sympathy visit to Oba Oyewumi, pledged the sum of One Hundred Million (N100,000,000.00) for the repairs and renovation of the historical monument, with an immediate disbursement of Ten Million (N10M) during the said visit.

In a letter dated October 19, 2020, addressed and delivered to the Governor, the Monarch stressed that the cost of the repairs and renovation of the wrecked Palace will be borne by a coordinated community effort of Ogbomoso sons and daughters in addition to the sum of N10m released so far by the Governor.

The letter reads, “I bring you warm greetings from the Royal Household and the good people of Ogbomosoland and seize the opportunity to thank you for your visit to me and the people of Ogbomoso on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, following a violent attack on Aafin Ogbomoso on Sunday, October 11, 2020 by a misguided group of hoodlums and miscreants under the guise of the ongoing “ENDSARS” Protests.
“I hasten to add that these hoodlums and miscreants are an aberration and not representative of my good and peace-loving people.

Allow me to use this medium to express the appreciation of my people and myself for the kind gesture by Your Excellency in pledging the sum of One hundred million Naira (N100,000,000) for the cost of the repairs and renovation of the Palace from the damages of the attack and an immediate disbursement of the sum of Ten million Naira (N10,000,000).

“However, subsequent to your visit, and in a gesture truly representative of the good and peace-loving people of Ogbomoso, a coordinated community of Ogbomoso sons and daughters have also taken up the responsibility for the repairs and renovation of their Palace and the repair and renovation work has commenced.

“In consequence of this development, and the assessment done, there is no need to disburse the balance of the sum of Ninety million Naira (N90,000,000.00).

“May I reiterate my advice during your visit that avenues and opportunities to engage our teeming youth who are largely unemployed or underemployed be assiduously explored to keep them meaningfully engaged and not idle.  I have no doubt in my mind that under your able leadership this will be done.

“With respect to the misguided ones who violated the sacred sanctity of Aafin Ogbomoso, as the father of all, they are forgiven for their mistake and misdeed in the knowledge that they have retraced their steps and mended their ways for the future and will no longer allow themselves to be misguided.
“Once again, my sincere thanks to you for your support and interest in upholding the traditional institution of Oyo State and by extension Yorubaland.

“May God grant you wisdom and success as you steer the affairs of Oyo State”.

Recall, the Paramount ruler, had in his remarks while playing host to the Governor in Ogbomoso, urged Oyo state government to implement policies and programmes aimed at creating employment opportunities and wealth for the youth, stressing that the youth must be empowered in all ramifications in a bid to eradicate violence and other social vices.

Some hoodlums who are taking the advantage of #ENDSARS  protests, on Wednesday, invaded Igbosere High Court in Lagos State, vandalising vehicles and carting away some files.

In a video, which has gone viral on the Internet, the hoodlums were seen moving out chairs, standing fan and other gadgets from the court before setting the court premises on fire.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye  has condemned attacks launched by military personnel on Lekki Tollgate protesters.

Pastor Adeboye, in a press statement made available via his Twitter account on Wednesday, called on the Federal Government to thoroughly investigate the tragic events at Lekki and other parts of the country with a view to giving justice to all victims.

The statement reads in full:

I condemn in the strongest possible terms, attacks launched by the Nigerian military on unarmed young people, who have been peacefully protesting police brutality over the last 12 days as #EndSARS protests.

I am confounded that prior to the sad events at the #LekkiTollGate, the Nigerian Police failed to arrest  the weapon-bearing hoodlums who were attacking the well-organized and non-violent  #EndSARS protesters.

The condemnable actions of the military risks driving the agitations of the young people underground, thereby making the situation unmanageable.

I call on the Federal Government to thoroughly investigate the tragic events at Lekki and other parts of the country, give justice to all victims even as it engages the #EndSARS protesters to reach a common agreement to end police brutality.

I am also appealing to the Youths to allow peace reign & stop any form of action that would give the Military any other form of excuse to attack.

May the peace of God come upon our nation, now more than ever in JESUS name (Amen)

The Chairperson, House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has called on President Muhammed Buhari to address the killing of unarmed Protesters across the Nation, while condemning the killing of protesters by Armed Security operatives in the country.

Tolulope Akande Sadipe in a statement made available to journalists said, “I weep for my beloved country, Nigeria. This is the Darkest Moment in our Nation. The Current Action is Unacceptable”.

She wondered why men of the Nigerian Army turned on the people they were meant to Protect, firing live bullets at citizens holding the Nigerian Flag and chanting the National Anthem, describing such as an “Abomination”.

“I, as a member of the House of Representatives cannot keep quiet in the midst of this abominable action. I was duly elected to be the voice of my people and my people are weeping”, she said.

She opined that the protests were about a generation trying to end the systematic rot that pervades the society, which had eaten deep into the fabrics of the Nation.

She continued, “We need to be honest with one another on this matter. We need to face the truth on ground. The youths were out there because they are tired and fed up of victimization, daily oppression, injustice, unemployment, untapped talents, lack of opportunity, poor healthcare, poor education and lack of infrastructure and power across the Nation. The Youths are protesting for a better future for themselves and their children. The #EndSARS PROTEST stands for the systematic ROT in our Nation”.

“This was about the realities on ground. This was about the ROT since independence. This was about genuine service to the people who elected us to represent them. This was not about the President, this was not about the current administration, this not about North and South, this was not about Religion. This was not about party affiliation. This was about a Generation trying to end the systematic ROT that pervades our society”.

Speaking against the backdrop that there are some external forces pushing for the destruction of Nigeria, Akande-Sadipe said the Federal Government should genuinely address issues.

“Those alluding, that there is a 5th Columnist within or external, there is a solution. If there is a 5th columnist or external negative force, pushing for the destruction of Nigeria, if we do the right thing, by genuinely addressing the issues that have led to the distrust between leadership and our youths, by addressing the rot that has pervaded our Society/our Nation. The 5th columnist in our midst or external negative force, would fail. But with this action, what have we said to the Youth and to the world”.

“This is the time to make the wrongs right and it is not by bringing out the Army to shoot its own citizens, that we achieve this. We can still put a stop to this inferno. We must realize that no position is permanent and it is the country we make that we shall all live in”, she added.
Concluding, she empathized with all the families of fallen Youth Patriots, praying that their death would not be in vain.

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday condemned the murder of harmless and largely peaceful #ENDSARS protesters in Lekki and other parts of the country.

The Union stated that killings in the ongoing protest is crime against humanity and called on the United Nations to show serious interest in the descent to totalitarianism by the Muhammadu Buhari led federal Government of Nigeria .

The Chairman, ASUU University of Ibadan, Professor Ayo Akinwole stated that the federal government’s repressive attacks on the advocacy and demands for responsible and responsive governance by Nigerian youth shows that Nigeria is tending towards repressive military governance

According to the ASUU Boss, killing youths demanding for justice against brutality and in the process being murdered in cold blood reveals that the security brutality of Nigerians is an agenda of the federal government.

Professor Akinwole stated that it is a taboo for parents to bury their children in Yorubaland and in most cultures adding that the President has committed a taboo.

ASUU stated that peaceful protest and demonstration are forms of political participation to bring about positive changes but regretted that the Buhari administration represses every voice of reason behaving like a military President.

ASUU lamented that Nigerian youths have not enjoyed anything good and are being deprived of funding in education, faced unemployment, and are worse hit by poverty.

Instead of learning how to be responsible and take care of people as shown by the organisational capacity of the #ENDSARS youth, Professor Akinwole lamented that government tyrannically snuffed lives out of promising future leaders.

He then called for justice for all victims of Lekki genocide and others killed in other locations in the country adding that the present crop of Nigerian leaders are low on empathy.

Akinwole stated that those who train their children abroad or who rush their children abroad for falling while riding multimillion naira motorbikes must be wicked to see children of hapless Nigerians murdered in cold blood.

“The Federal government should immediately stop the shooting, maiming, and brutalization of our students and youth. We affirm their inalienable right to live, be alive, and express their aspirations peacefully as guaranteed in the Nigerian constitution and other international protocols on human rights including those of the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS), African Union (AU) and the United Nations.

In light of this, we call on members of the Nigerian political class, and government to rein in the thugs being unleashed on our students and the general public. There is documented evidence that this generation of students and youth in the current anti-police brutality protests is demonstrating extreme maturity as has never been seen in recent times. We commend them all, and urge that they do not be provoked into taking steps inimical to their peaceful objectives.”

Channels Television has gone offline after hoodlums invaded the premises of the Television station.

The development is coming shortly another TV station, TVCwent offline after being set on fire by thugs angry over killing of #EndSARS protesters in Lagos.

Staff of the TV station have reportedly fled the Lagos office.
