The Northwest Zonal Congress of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has ended in chaos after supporters of major contenders clashed.
The Zonal Congress, which was held in Kadua had ballot boxes destroyed.
Just before voting was to start, thugs took over the venue to thrash boxes, forcing delegates to flee.
According to a competent source, “some undemocratic elements have disrupted the PDP Zonal (Northwest) Congress going on now in Kaduna. The crises was caused by the insistence of the Governor Aminu Tambuwal to install an APC member as the PDP Zonal (Northwest) Vice Chairman in the Congress against the popular agreed (consensus) candidates”.
