Ibadan City Polytechnic has honoured some dignitaries with award of excellence.

They were honoured on Wednesday during the school maiden convocation ceremony held at the school premises at Enenezery Bus Stop, Off Alakia Isebo, Iyana Church road, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

One of the awardees who was retired Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, Mr. Leye Oyebade, appreciated the institution for finding them worthy for the award.

While appreciating the leadership of the institution, he said “On behalf of other awardees, we are honoured and delighted”.

He added that more support would be given to the citadel of learning.

Oyebade further said the institution is special, unique and extraordinary.

“Education is the best legacy, it is also one of the keys to sustainable development of any society. I pray for a bright future for the graduating students”, the ex-DIG submitted.

In the remarks of one of the legends in the music industry while speaking with C.E.O of Newzcruise, Temidayo Aboderin, Dr. Sunday Ishola Adeniyi Adegeye popularly called King Sunny Ade said he is also happy to be among the awardees.

The music icon appreciated Dr. Yemi Farounbi for his unflinching support and his contributions.

“Polytechnic is a place where you practice whatever you have learnt unlike other institutions.

“Parents are always happy on the day of their children’s graduation, whether you play a sweet music or not they will dance to it because they are happy”, he stated.

“I thank everyone for coming for the convocation and I also advise the graduands of Ibadan City Polytechnic to be determined and focused to succeed out there” he concluded.
