The Federal Government through the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has empowered youths across Oyo state in its drive to gainfully engage the youth for optimal economic performance.
The capacity development program for artisans and under- served youths in digital literacy and phone repairs was held at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso Oyo state.
During the training which was facilitated by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, participants were taking through the rudiements of phone repairs and accessories.
The Director General NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdulahi who was represented by Stanley Obiekme urged the beneficiaries to maximize the skills acquired and the tools given to them during the training.
“You must thank Senator Fatai Buhari for bringing this opportunity to the zone.Many people wish to have this opportunity,you are only blessed to be a beneficiary.” Stanley said.
While Presenting starter packs to the beneficiaries Senator Abdulfatai Buhari said the essence of the program was to empower the youth in order to make them self-reliant and take them out of poverty
Buhari, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain who was represented by his aide Prince Lolade Bello presented starter packs and start up fund to the beneficiaries and urged them to make judicial use of the item and train other people who are not privilege to be part of the training
Some of the participants said they training has exposed them to various digital literacy and will no doubt boost their knowledge and managing their businesses.
Saka Ganiyat, a beneficiary from Oke Ogun said “This training has indeed exposed me to the digital world, i have acquired more knowledge and i am going out as a digitally compliance trader, the training on phone repairs is also fantastic, I have another side hustle and I am happy to be part of this, I appreciate God for the grace, NITDA and Senator Buhari for this opportunity.
Also Timileyin Gbolahan thanked the Federal Government for bringing the dividends of democracy closer to them
and promised to make good use of facilities made available to them.
