Re-election: Oyo Traders Congratulate Makinde Over Victory

Traders in Oyo State have congratulated Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on his re-election as the Governor of the state for another four years.

 

In a statement signed by Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Sunmaila Aderemi Jimoh, they described Makinde’s re-election as a fulfilment of the will of God as well as the confirmation that the residents appreciate his commitments towards leading the state to greater heights.

 

The statement reads: “Traders, Artisans, Market Men and Women in Oyo State sincerely congratulate you on your re-election for a second term in office as the governor of the State.

 

“Your victory at the polls is a fulfilment of the will of God and also a confirmation that the residents appreciate your commitments towards leading the state to greater heights.

 

“We believe your second term will turn Pacesetter state to a reference point for other states in Nigeria, especially in sectors such as; security, agriculture, education, health, transport, tourism among others.

 

“We appeal to you not to relent in your struggles to make our state greater and give best of dividends of democracy to the people of our dear state.

 

“It is important that you allow yourself to be guided by the fact that your re-election is a divine mandate, a result of your outstanding achievements as well as unmatched love expressed towards civil servants during your first term in office as the Governor of Oyo State. We therefore advise that you intensify more efforts to do better.

 

“We pray God grant you more wisdom, knowledge, grace and protection as you proceed in moving the state to its promised land.”

 

The traders also commended the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Engr. Dotun Sanusi for using his influence to ensure the reemergence of Makinde.

 

Also, they lauded the diehard spirit exhibited by Senator Monsurat Sunmonu during electioneering process. The Senator was praised for her several meetings with various associations and groups, including traders associations to secure support for Makinde’s re-election, which finally yielded great result.
