The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the South West has criticised the judgement of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja which sacked Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, describing it as another rape of democracy.

The Public Relations Officer of the party in the Southwest, Comrade Badmus Oladayo better known as KilamuwayeBakoBadmus, asserted this while speaking with newsmen about the development on Saturday.

He said, “An onlooker in the time of oppression is either a coward, traitor or betrayal. We stand to say that the judgment passed by the Court of Appeal has been far away from what can be regarded as justice. We would say that if things continue like this, Nigerians would totally loose hope in the judicial and democratic processes.”

He noted that Abba Yusuf was the choice of the residents of Kano state and he remains their best choice.

He said the party is ready to challenge the ‘Kangaroo judgement’, adding that they are ready to reclaim his mandate at the Supreme Court.

The NNPP party chieftain added that the judgement was based on collective personal interest.

“The judgment was nothing but a rape of democracy which won’t take us anywhere in Nigeria!”, he said.
