Soun of Ogbomosoland Laid To Rest As Olaniyan, Ladoja, Akala, Others Visit Palace

The remains of the Soun of Ogbomosholand, Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi, Ajagungbade III, has been committed to mother earth.

He was buried according to Islamic rites at about 4:30pm inside a vault in the palace.

Oyo State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan, Ex-governors; Rashidi Ladoja, Adebayo Alao-Akala, Governor Seyi Makinde’s Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, Senator Fatai Buhari, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin among others dignitaries on Sunday visited the palace to commiserate with the family of the late monarch.

Recall that news filtered on Sunday morning about the demise of the monarch.

He was said to have breath his last on Sunday at the age of 95 after reigning for 48 years.

The burial prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Tholiat Oluwasina Ayilara.

The fear and uncertainty that trailed the news of the demise of the monarch was laid to rest Sunday afternoon when the ruling house officially announced the passage of the first class monarch.

The Gbagun Ruling House of Ogbomoso officially announced the demise of the 95-year-old monarch in a statement by Dr. Aderemi Oyewumi.
