A former Minister of Sports and Special Duty, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja has described the death of a former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi as a loss too many for him to comprehend.

Adedoja in a condolence message he personally signed on Saturday said, “since the announcement of the demise of our brother , Sen Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, I havenā€™t found the appropriate words to describe the deep wound his death has placed in my heart.

“Politics apart, late Sen Ajimobi radiated peace among his close friends during his lifetime . My closeness and friendship with him dates back to the late 90s when we both expressed our interest in serving our country.

“Ever since three of us : Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala , Sen Ajimobi and I contested for the governorship election in 2007 under PDP, ANPP and AC respectively , with Otunba Akala emerging the governor of Oyo State my relationship with Egbon ( as I fondly called him) has transcended political divide prior to my return to the same political party with him before his painful death.

“A striking feature of Late Governor Ajimobiā€™s life worth emulating by Nigerian leaders was his compassion for his family inspite of official responsibilities.

“Late Governor Ajimobi will forever be remembered in the political anals of Oyo State as an achiever , visionary and exemplary leader.

“Rest In Peace Egbon, May Almighty Allah grant comfort to your family and loved ones,” he prayed.
