We’ll Continue to Prioritize Workers Welfare, Says Makinde

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde has disclosed that the present administration in the State will continue to prioritize workers welfare in the State.

He stated this during the 2024 Annual Inter-faith Service held at Governor’s Office Open Space, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde said he has been enjoying civil servants co-operation for the past four years with the accelerated development in the State.

He reiterated that Government is existing to look after the welfare of the citizens.

He charged the labour leaders in the State to always put the interest of Oyo State above all other interests in whatever they are doing.

“I want to appreciate the labour leaders for their support, we take our decisions based on logic, science and data, above all, the fear of God”.

Governor Makinde added that the State Government would complete the on-going infrastructural projects across the State which according to him would contribute immensely to the economic growth of the State.

In her Goodwill Message, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo appreciated civil servants for putting the interest of Oyo State first in their daily routines.

In her welcome address, the State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni mni appealed to both the political office holders and the civil servants to see each other as partners ojin progress.

She enjoined civil servants to shun corruption, laziness, absenteeism among others in order for the State to retain its Pacesetter status as she urged them to refrain from all forms of unethical behavior capable of under-mining the good intentions of the present administration in the State.

The Head of Service said many top government functionaries enjoyed international training programmes while over Eight Thousand Civil/Public Servants in the Local Governments and the Civil Services had the opportunities to be exposed to various trainings and workshops.
