Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has advised motorists and commuters in the state to take alternative routes due to the commissioning of remodelled Lekan Salami Sports complex.
The agency said it solicits maximum cooperation of the motoring public on this development.
It added that it will also continue to update the public periodically on further traffic related developments that may occur in the course of the commissioning.
Former president Atiku Abubakar, governors are expected to join Governor Makinde today at the recommissioning of the sports complex.
The full statement reads:
āMembers of the motoring public and general commuters travelling from or to Ibadan Metropolis through Adamasingba are hereby notified of the anticipated heavy traffic due to the official commissioning of the remodeled Lekan Salami Stadium by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
āThe commissioning is expected to witness an influx of dignitaries from all walks of life and thus is envisaged to cause slow flow of vehicular movement during the period of 10am-10pm of 1st September, 2021. As all the concerned Authorities are making frantic efforts to mitigate the effect of the exercise on traffic flow, our men and officers would be strategically positioned to ease the traffic.
āIn view of the foregoing, motorists, travellers and the general public are hereby advised to use alternative routes boycotting Adamasingba during the stipulated period.
āFrom Sango Axis inward Mokola, branch at Veterinary junction taking Jembewon Road behind Sabo down to Pensioners FM Radio House and link the main road at Fijabi House inward Iyaganku. Motorists coming from Dugbe inward Adamasingba should make a U-Turn opposite Bovas Petrol Station and enter at Fijabi House Junction to link Pensioners FM then branch to Recreation Center to link the Mokola-Sango Road inward Sango, University of Ibadan, Ojoo.
