The Joint Action Committee of Six (6) tertiary institutions in Oyo State has joined well-meaning indigenes of Oyo StateĀ to felicitate the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE on his 54th birthday.
JAC in a release signed by its Chairman, Comrade Olusegun Oyewumi thanked God for the life of the Governor at 54 which has brought meaningful developmental strides to Oyo State. According to the release, “we at JAC join the good people of Oyo State in celebrating our Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE at 54. We thank God for your life which has been a blessing to Oyo State. It is our prayer to God Almighty to continually uphold you and give you wisdom to move Oyo State forward”.
JAC however wishes to use this medium to appeal to your Excellency to look to issues of
Non-implementation of the government/JAC agreement on defrayment of minimum wage arrears at OYSCOED, Lanlate, even though other institutions had done the needful in December 2020, April 2021, and September 2021.
“The state of infrastructure across all the institutions is deplorable, as the Government has not embarked on any construction in any of the six institutions in the last three (3) years and the existing ones were barely maintained.” “We call on you sir to look into the overdue conduct of accreditation of courses in most of the institutions especially EACOED, Oyo, TOP, Saki and OYSCATECH, Igboora.”
Your Excellency Sir, the yoke of inadequate monthly subventions which are not sufficient to pay salary made some institutions resort to borrowing to pay salary especially in OYSCATECH, Igboora, and EACOED, Oyo.” “Equally, non-appointment of substantive management teams in some of our Institutions is more worrisome. As at today, the process of appointment of Principal Officers in OYSCATECH, Igboora, and TOP, Saki had been completed upward of a year ago and yet to be implemented.
While thanking God for the gift of life for Your Excellency at 54, it shall be our delight that you help us look into the issues raised by us with a view to jointly move the tertiary institutions in Oyo State forward.
Once again, congratulations and a happy 54th birthday to Your Excellency Sir.
