The Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, MDII, warmly felicitates with Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, a significant milestone in the nation’s democratic journey.
In a statement released through his media aide, Oladiipo Adegoke, Prince Aleshinloye noted that Democracy Day provides an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and the progress made in sustaining democratic governance. He emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of justice, accountability, equity, and the rule of law as foundations for national development.
The Commissioner charged leaders at all levels of government to remain committed to doing the right things for the benefit of the people, stressing that leadership should be anchored on integrity, transparency, and selfless service.
He also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that the administration’s policies and programmes will continue to advance national growth and improve the welfare of citizens.
Furthermore, the former Algon Chairman in Oyo State urged Nigerians to remain security-conscious, vigilant, and supportive of security agencies by providing timely and useful information that will help safeguard lives and property while he also expressed deep concern over the recent abduction of some residents in the Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State and offered prayers for their safe and speedy release.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to national unity, peace, and progress. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous, and greater Nigeria for present and future generations,” he stated.
