Adepoju joins PDP, describes Governor Makinde’s achievements as unprecedented

A former House of Representatives candidate under the umbrella of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in 2019 general elections in Oyo State, Dr. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju has dumped ZLP for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the achievements of governor Seyi Makinde as unprecedented.

Adepoju, who is currently the Executive Chairman, Water Cooperation of Oyo State, joined PDP with other decampees on Wednesday in Igboora, the headquarters of Ibarapa central/Ibarapa North federal constituency of Oyo State.

According to him, looking at all the achievements of Makinde since his assumption of office, one will be motivated to be partner in the progress of taking the state to its desired level.

“I am happy for today’s event because we have in attendance people of great minds in the whole of Ibarapa land who have decided to come together to work for the progress of Oyo State so as to take the state to greater height.

While engaging the Journalists on what made him to dump his former party and joined the ruling party, Adepoju noted that the uniqueness of PDP makes it different from other parties, saying that what Makinde-led administration is doing is worthy to be emulated.

“Governor Makinde has tried in all sectors, and this is what makes other states across the federation to be following his foot steps.

In his remarks, the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin described Dr. Adepoju as a good son of Ibarapa land who has been contributing his quota to the growth and development of the state, saying that PDP in the state is ready to meet the yarnings of the people.

Ogundoyin however appreciated the support the people of Ibarapa have been giving to the party, calling on them to give more support to the reconciliation process currently going on in order to yield positive result.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the party in Oyo South Senatorial District, Sir Samuel Olawuwo said that the PDP government is ready to address all the needs of the people, saying that “We need to unite so that our enemy will not divide us. All the party leaders are already in peace talk with the aggrieved party members so as to bring them to one fold. Let us all be united to move this great party to greater height”.

Dignitaries at the event include; the representatives of the Oyo State Government, Mr. Seye Makinde, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede, Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Special Adviser to governor Makinde on disabilities, Barr. Adekanbi, Hon. James Olukunle, Sir. Samuel Olawuwo and Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi among others.
