A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, has stated categorically that he can never decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Dapo-Adesina revealed this on Saturday while interrogating with Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on BOTTOM LINE – a political programme on IBR 92.5 FM Ibadan. He described himself as a disciplined politician who is committed to the ideals of progressivism with no desire to decamp to another party.

According to the former lawmaker who represented Ibadan North-East/South East Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2019, “this is not the first time I will be saying this and quote me anywhere, I can never join the PDP. What am I looking for? I have left the APC, I am presently in ADC”. He said.

The former Oyo commissioner, however, noted that the concept of progressivism is not as rigid as many people take it.

“There are many Progressives who are in conservative Party and vice versa. Does that change anything? This thing has to do with your mindset.” He explained.

When asked to rate the performance of the incumbent government in Oyo State, he said it is too early to speak on that. “The government is less than two years. It is too early to begin to rate its performance. I feel we still need to give the government more time”.

He further added that government at all levels are put in place to solve the problems of the people and that no leader should be found wanting in this regard.

On the#EndSARs protest, he noted that it only underscores the need to restructure the country.

He recalled the support he gave as a federal lawmaker to some of the moves that will hasten the process but expressed regret that the efforts failed in state Houses of Assembly across the country.

Ahead 2023, Lam-Adesina said he currently has no ambition and that the election year is still far off. “It is too early to talk about 2023. With all of these happenings across the country, who knows who will be alive till then? He retorted.

He admonished the youths to be law abiding at all times.
