Invasion: Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative, CCII slated joint security meeting for Wed 17th April

Following yesterday’s attacked on Oyo State governor’s office and Oyo State House of Assembly complex, Secretariat by suspected O’odua Nation Agitators, the Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI) in collaboration with the Central Council of Ibadan Indigienes (CCII) have summoned a special joint security meeting.

The meeting, which was slated to Wednesday, 17th April, 2024 by 11am at Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo will have in attendance the Special Adviser to Oyo State governor on Security matter, all heads of security agencies in the state, Oba’s, Baales, Chiefs, Mogajis, Local Government Chairmen, local security volunteers, Oyo State Market Council, Babaloja and Iyaloja General of Oyo state.

Also expected at the event are Iyaloja’s, Babaloja’s, all zonal heads of market men and women across the state, and various religious body among others.

A statement by ICPI Coordinator, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade said the meeting became necessary to fostall future occurrence of such event.

He said stakeholders at the meeting will brainstorm on how to strengthen security architect of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.

Recall that the Central Council Of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Olubadan-in-Council, Obas, Mogajis, Baales, elders, leadership of various Market Councils, Babalojas, Iyalojas, Community development Associations and the entire Ibadan indigenes on Sunday condermed attack on Oyo State governor’s office and Oyo State House of Assembly by suspected O’odua Nation agitators.

They warned the agitators to stay away from Ibadan and the entire Oyo State, saying people of Ibadan will not condone insult again.

CCII President-General, Barr. Chief Niyi Ajewole called for thorough investigation to unravel circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.

According to him, whoever involved in the act directly or indirectly should be fished out and brought to book.
