JUST IN: The Poly Ibadan Workers Unions Reject Oyo Govt’s Newly Appointed Consultant

Date:

Workers of The Polytechnic Ibadan are currently protesting against a newly appointed Prudnege Technologies Limited by Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration in Oyo State.

Apart from the Platinum Consultant appointed by Governor Makinde to run all the six state tertiary institutions, a new consultant, the Prudnege Technologies Limited has just been appointed to conduct biometric registration of all the tertiary institutions in the state.

Leaders of the workers Unions while addressing their teeming members rejected a memo released by the institution’s registrar – Mrs M.T Fawale on data capturing of the staff, describing Governor Seyi Makinde’s latest move as obnoxious and aberration.

The workers are converging at the institution’s Central Administration Building to reject both the Platinum Consultant and the new Consultant.

The leaders of the unions Comrade Akande Ibraheem Adekunle and Mr.Biodun Abegunde expressed their displeasure about the inhuman policy of Governor Makinde-led Government, saying that the Polytechnic Ibadan is an academic institution and not a construction company that needs monitoring workers on shift duties.

The unions while resisting the anti-workdrs policies, ordered their members to return to their various offices.

According to the memo dated 25th March, 2021, the workers are expected to do thumbprinting by 8am and 4pm everyday.
